books

marc was complaining about how the loft in the garage was going to cave in and threatened to take all my books out of storage.  “books?  what books?”  and they just kept coming.  i knew i had been collecting vintage hardbacks, but i didn’t know i had a whole bookshelf full of them.  so huzzah.

i was surprised by all the old easy readers i had.  gideon has had the dirty business of reading all about “spot”.  he seems to find them funny, but i have to leave the room.  it’s soul sucking.

on the upside, there are some fun books in there that we’ve started to read out loud to the boys.  lots of old adventure books.  right now we are reading “the flamingo feather,” which was one of my favorites when i was little.  and just wait until we get to daniel boone and “genghis khan and the mongol horde!”  they’re going to love it.

I kind of take remarks like “the roof is going to cave in” seriously.
