soccer mom!

actually, there’s nothing more gut wrenching than team sports.  when he’s a little older he can play something sensible like fencing or golf.  until then, i do what i have to.

soccer

although it is a little embarrassing to watch.  for instance, gideon did not know what a line was.  they played follow the leader and he ran out in front yelling, “haha!  i am the winner!”  i guess little social norms like that are good to know.

personally, i liked the crazy kid in the red shirt.  they asked the kids to put their heads on their soccer balls, instead he hiked up his shorts and made like super man.  (and in the picture at the bottom you can see him playing dead.)

the program we picked is called paks, parents and kids in soccer.  so daddy has to be out there on the field too.  they play this one game where the kids run the gamut and the parents kick balls at them.  on marc’s first whack at it he took the legs out from underneath a three year old.  this last time he hit gideon in the face (it’s a good thing he’s so tough).

although daddy says the girl hair has to go.  partly because gideon spends all of his time keeping it out of his eyes and partly because everyone at soccer practice calls him “sweety.”

Way to go Gideon. You look too cool! Grandma loves you all so much. I am glad you are taking soccer and learning new things.
