why i’m not homeless

we have the loveliest catalpa tree in our backyard.  it started blooming the other day so i had to run out and take some pictures before it started to fade.  i think the tree is the only reason boy actually bought this house.  he likes trees a lot more than he likes houses.

which might be why he spent most of last summer up the tree, instead of in the house with me and my paint brush.  but now that the poor thing is trimmed and watered it seems much more optimistic.  here’s a before picture so you can see for yourself.  it’s much happier now and much less white trash.  (and by the way, we have a lawn now too. )

plus it makes the best shade.  it couldn’t have been planted in a better spot.  we would be miserable without it.

what a good tree.

Our little one made it through the mice winter, but it is sad. I don’t know where to plant the ones you brought.

Trees are the answer. They are so amazing. When farmland is ruined with destructive chemical farming, certain trees are the only thing that will grow. And of course certain weeds.

I want to climb that tree! 🙂

BTW Miranda, I LOVE your blog. You’re so creative and it’s fun to see all the cute little things you come up with. Your blog is one of those “feel happy” blogs that’s leaves a smile on your face.

Is there ANY way you could repost just the pictures for your “nursing cover” tutorial? I don’t mean instructions, we don’t want to offend the mafia. 😉

no joke, miranda has no couch or extra beds. so we come and sit on the floor and roll out the sleeping bags. of course, gideon and jehu love to share their beds with visiting grandmas.
miranda does have a goal (pottery barn couch, white) so if anyone wants to donate to the cause she is getting close. love grandma sandy.

p.s. when both grandmas show up at the same time we share the boys. those boys are wiggle worms. sometimes one is better than 2. but grandmas don’t mind either way.
