she means business

still no camera, so i thought i would share my favorite painting of jael. she’s sporting the same dirty look i wear all the time.

then there is this other one where she looks almost frighteningly nonchalant. like she does it all the time while subconsciously planning the dinner menu.

there are old paintings of all the kiddos names; gideon, jehu and jael. someday i will order and frame the prints for birthday presents. i particularly like the one of jehu. where he is looking fine, kicked back in his chariot, watching jezebel get flung out the window. but don’t worry, the pictures of gideon seem to be much more pious. it’s funny how they take after their names so much already. gideon has always been cautious and his biggest concerns right now are sin, death and old age. jehu, on the other hand, just runs around taking the lids off things.

Jehu and Gideon taking on traits of their namesakes is one thing.

I hope Jael never progresses to driving a stake through the temple of a wicked government leader. LOL. Though she will be given many an opportunity…

We have a great cd of kids old testament songs in which your children’s names appear prominently. Maybe I’ll send it to you so they can sing along, “so may all your enemies perish.” It’s so endearing.

That really could be Jehu. Funny.
