boys and their toys

we bought a 9-cube, storage system with a gift card we received at christmas. it’s a dream. we sorted through all the boys’ toys and the one’s with multiple parts or accessories all got stuffed. now, if they want one (say “duplos” or “trains”), they pull out the cube and haul it in the living room. then, of course, they have to put it back before they get a new one.

so far, so good. except i think hubby is addicted. if we ever get a real house he says he’s going to turn a whole wall into one.

in other news, i got the chance to photograph “giant head,” while he was getting his shirt taken off last night. a very traumatic experience. if you notice, no one is actually touching him in this picture. he’s just screaming, “no! don’t take off my shirt! my head’s too big!” my response is generally, “do you want me to chop it off?”

to which he will yell, “yes!” then think about it for a while and change his mind. poor kid. there just aren’t any good options.

we’ve had this problem forever, and with both munchkins. they’re both 10th percentile when it comes to weight and 110th when it comes to head. it’s all those otto brains or otto skull. not sure yet, what’s exactly in there…

gideon, you will grow into your head some day. tell mommy to only buy shirts with buttons. your room is so nice and clean. i am glad to hear what big helpers you both are. p.s. mommy is going to have a birthday soon. you will have to make her a birthday cake and think of a present too. how exciting. did mommy take the tree down? so did gramdma (always next year). bye, grandma. (and in the picture i see jehu’s and gideon’s chicken eggs.)

    My head, Uncle Chad’s head, Marc’s head–all 7 3/4 hat size. They don’t have a chance.

We have cube shelves too and I am in love with them. They are from Ikea and come in all different sizes. Right now we just have the big one, but I have my sights set on at least one in each size.
