family pictures, 2007

in a mad, last minute dash, we were able to send out our family pictures with our christmas cards. sometime over the summer i had thought, “wouldn’t it be fun to take old fashioned, styled daguerreotypes, look real serious, and be naked?” i should have thought more about that, i think. but after whipping them out december 15th, i didn’t have any more time to ponder. if you didn’t get one, this is what they looked like. (thanks to randy for putting them together for us too.)

below is set number two, which we printed as tiny 2″ x 3″ miniatures. even though i was fully dressed (tube top, mind you), when these came back from the printers, i couldn’t help but be mildly horrified. “um, honey, i look kind of naked…” “eh? optical illusion, you’re fine.” that was easy for him to say, he looked hotter than you might expect a rabid, half-squirrel, half-man to look. (though, sorry to say, the sideburns were gone come new years.) as for me, i could do with a little airbrushing.  the “grumpy” is settling into permanent.

my friend laura suggested the sucker stuck in gideon’s hair (even though she denies it, but it wouldn’t have crossed my mind). and jehu is holding the little, naked, anatomically correct dolly from last year’s, superior, family photo. if he doesn’t get lost, he will probably show up in next years too.

Hee hee! These made me laugh. But last year’s was a little better.

I think we’ll finally start doing the Christmas card thing when we have a kid…no one but us really wants to see photos of our dog.
