boy’s happy, chocolate birthday

when we were in moscow, over the week of thanksgiving, we stopped by the cowgirl chocolate store. boy’s favorite. we bought two sacks of candy bars (espresso orange, mint, hazelnut, lime-tequila), a jar of spicy chocolate fudge and a cannister of spicy hot chocolate. yum.

marc made me wait until his actual birthday before i could have any, but it was quite delicious. if you’re not a fan yet, you should certainly run out and try some. later, i made him his favorite chocolate cookies with some 60% bittersweet, and dropped them off at his work.

only to find that his co-workers had already bought him a chocolate, ice cream cake. poor fellow could hardly take it. then he had to come home to a dinner of chocolate fondue.

that will teach him. i’m afraid it wasn’t all that nutritious for the children either. they kept the same apple, the whole dinner, and just kept sucking chocolate off it. (later i gave them some pistachios and a string cheese, but i think the damage was done.)

he sure doesn’t look thirty, does he?
