gideon’s happy birthday

atrain.jpg

gideon had a train birthday, since he is a fan of all things ‘train’. in a rash act of love i made him one out of refrigerator boxes and kandi’s old house paints. who knows how long i will have it in my yard. we can test the extent of my affections.

i would expect gideon to have had all of his train fantasy’s gratified after today. i set out all the train books, the train table, the train toys, we had train hats and train pants, a train cake, train whistles, a train, a train pinata and last but not least, train underwear. i mean, if anything.

grammy made the train cake (i love the colors!). she thinks gideon is pretty special (in an infatuated and daffy kind of way) and she spoils him like mad.

after he blew out his candles gideon got his new birthday ribbon. if you ask him how old he is he looks at his arm and then says, “i have 3 birthday ribbons.” he’s going to become very confused once they start falling off.

the pinata turned out to be very invincible. daddy had to take matters into his own hands. i don’t think the wee minions could even put a dent in it. which is strange, because they don’t seem to have that affect on much else.

the little boy on the right is ash. he is jehu’s age and has an older brother that’s gideon size. we’ve just met. and it’s a good thing too. we’re short on boys. gideon had 11 little friends over and 8 of them were girls. so hooray for the new acquisitions.

gideon sat while isabel opened his presents for him. i think i am going to nab his ugly doll for a throw pillow on my bed. any votes on whether those are legs or udders?

anyways, we had a lot of fun and thank you all for coming. check the sidebar for a video of gideon and his new tea set. it’s what every boy needs.

If one’s grandmother is not infatuated and daffy, one doesn’t have a very good grandma. My three grandchildren are beautiful and perfect, obviously, so it’s easy to be infatuated and daffy.

so much fun… youre a fabulous hostess and mother. i want you to come to my house, help plan all my parties and host them for me while, i sit back and enjoy the party. how’s fouth of july for you? we’ll be in our new place and can have the swimming pool out and the grill going, afterwards we could haul the kids over to watch fire works from the top of Ann Morrison? Got plans?

don’t believe so. you’d best start scraping all those invitations. everyone will love your new house (and those granite counter tops). spoiled, goodness.
