the boys got free tickets to a golf tournament through their soccer program. well actually six tickets. i sold some and bought a chandelier. (which makes me exceedingly happy and i am sure you will hear more about later.) and then we tried to con friends and relatives into using the other tickets. but it was a no go. apparently they are not as wooed by the prospect of a free pancake breakfast as the germain in me. first it’s hindu temples and then it’s the wienermobile. food takes you places!
and i think i want that license plate….
actually, i want the wienermobile period. the ultimate minivan. who designs cars these days anyways?
gideon waiting for his pancakes wondering what happened to his 7:30 breakfast. fortunately the free milk and limitless scrambled eggs eventually assuaged him.
not to mention the free cheese!
they went around the rest of the day with “i loaf you.” buttons on their shirts and pockets stuffed full of cheddar.
they were good golf watchers too.
except for jael. she was prone to clap and holler “good job!” – usually when someone missed their putt. and she did eat a lot of free chap-stick.
but otherwise people mostly just thought they were cute. they’re always cute when their grammy dresses them.
here they are looking for fish.
and after a midday birthday party the kids went back with daddy to watch the final round.
rumor is tractor papa got to see them on tv too.
so hooray for golf. i think my favorite thing is the lack of fan mania. someone makes a good shot and they ooo and ahh and applaud politely. and they certainly don’t drive around with obscene orange and blue flags on the backs of their trucks or demonstrate unseemly amounts of emotion. where do we sign up? we already have the hats.
