the thing about having your own eggs is that they don’t come in cartons. of course, you could just reuse nasty store cartons – but that would be wrong.
so hooray for this little wonder i found on easter clearance. it makes me so happy. and three times a day little feet patter in to deposit their eggs in it with great satisfaction. (if they don’t break them somewhere between the chicken coop and the back steps. which they do.)

hanging out with a sick daddy is the best. rooting through all mommy’s old jewelry while you’re at it is even better.
she would just sit there and pull out pieces and say, “ooo….oooo….happy.”
what a contented little heathen.
don’t break anything.

jael bait , ottoscroms
i haven’t been blogging. i admit. but photoshop went belly up. i’m sure i could do without, but i don’t want to. so i just threw these photos up. you can scroll real fast and pretend it’s a movie. i don’t know what they were doing, but they were doing something. weirdos.
aren’t they cute? they are sporting their new easter duds from grandma gayla. although i did have to trade jael’s dress in for the next size up, if she is wondering what happened to the cute embroidered pink one she had picked out instead. sorry.

i’m sorry they are not much to look at. maybe someday i will replace this with a more appetizing picture. but they are good, so you will have to take my word for it. you can find the recipe here.
they are even supposed to be healthy, touting only 1/3 c. of raw sugar. i just don’t know what they sneak into the carob, that stuff knocks your socks off. anyhoot, i have been trying to make a point to collect healthy dessert recipes. ones that don’t taste like bird nests and the like. feel free to share if you have any up your sleeve. *m
