memory verse cards. it turned out to be a bigger project than i thought. first i had to skim all my bible graffiti for my favorite verses. then i had to skim the kids’ entire set of “the bible story” looking for relevant pictures. then scan them all. then hubby had to create a faux rick rack border in autocad (just ask him how he’s suffered). next i have to crop all the pictures and pop them in their borders. then align the memory verses to print on the back and take the whole get-up to kinkos.
the verse for the picture of abigail on the left is “a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” i don’t have anything picked out for absalom on the right there, if anyone has any ideas. i just liked the picture of him jockeying his speed donkey. and hopefully i will get them printed/laminated soon. i plan to keep them on the fridge and switch them up every week (i think i have 30). my guess is that if the kids can associate a verse with a picture they will be able to store and retrieve it better. plus, it’s just dang fun. “a sword for the lord and for gideon!”

those pitures are beautiful. kids would never get tired of looking at them. wonderful idea
2 Samuel 18:9–appropriately gruesome. Or the last verse in the chapter.
