i had some great bed head this morning. probably not really blog worthy, but i think that’s all this day is going to amount to.

i had some great bed head this morning. probably not really blog worthy, but i think that’s all this day is going to amount to.

here we are trying to get pictures of all the otto babies. you know, one picture where they are all smiling.

but no.

there is grammy otto and that spankin’ handsome jehu. grammy was quite beneficial to the gene pool it seems. or rather took over the gene pool. i’m afraid all of our children will only ever look the same. at least they will all be cute.

last night we went to the park with the jamieson’s and roasted marshmellows while the kids played. gideon and elizabeth are best friends.

when they have to leave they have the oddest little parting ritual. elizabeth will hold out her hands and say, “kiss.” gideon will bow and oblige and then say, “hug” and then they throw their arms around each other. not bearing to part quite yet, they both say “kiss” again and smack at the air in front of their faces. it’s actually very revolting. it’s like two, sexually ambiguous, interior designers parting on hgtv. fortunately my other son shows better sense.
(don’t forget to watch the “happy birthday grammy” video in the sidebar. it takes a while to load though, google video wasn’t working this morning. let it load all the way before playing, else it squeeks.)
i found this the other day on my dry erase board. very funny.

and i’ve always loved this picture of jehu’s other mother. everyone needs more friends like that.

what an industrious son. i filled up the pool for him and when i came back he had stuffed it with every toy in the yard and garage. sadly, there wasn’t any room left for him. and i’m sure he had such plans.

this is the pillow i made for my mum. i finished the cross-stitch years ago (i am never doing counted cross-stitch again, by the way) and finally put it on a pillow. unfortunately i mailed it before i took a picture of it, so this is a mite late.

kandi gave me a bag of scraps which turned out to be the perfect colors for the background. how handy is that? in any case, i’m glad it’s over with. piecing is a form of purgatory and cross-stitch isn’t any better. gee, the things i do for fun.

this is a yummy summer dish.

though i do admit, it is hard to make food look attractive on blood orange plates. you’ll just have to believe me.

my grandma gave this to me when i visited the other week.

it’s a hand sewn quilt made entirely of flour sacks. i felt kind of guilty putting it on gideon’s bed. he will search out all the holes and stuff it full of matchbox cars. at least that’s what he did with his last one. but i can’t help it, i’m one of those people who thinks everything should be used. else, what is the point?
